Thanks for the link Berny, looks very interesting. I see that it is not available for Oly, but I wonder if it does not fit there either – M4/3 is M4/3 after all, and a G9 or E-M1 looks the same on the inside. I’l ask them. Thanks again Berny!

Not quite sure what you mean about your camera’s “sensor protector”, I have to look into that one.
I also have the ND filters in my E-M1 MKIII and E-M1X, incredibly easy 🙂
As for filters, I totally agree that cleaning your lenses sucks, and yes, a filter is great for that.
Reflection and the like don’t immediately scare me,
However, I have noticed loss of sharpness with some filters on my long lenses, you can find a blog about this, from me here on the site.
In any case, thanks for your comment and your visit Berny !
hope to see you again,
regards,
Marc.

It means I never have to clean my sensor. I also have some internal ND filters – great for shooting in wet weather. I fit a uv filter to ALL of my lenses. You will read some rubbish about image degradation due to internal reflections but when was the last time you heard something like ‘Ah yes but the internal reflections from your uv filter have ruined the image’?
Using a UV filter means not having to clean the front element of your lens. No matter how careful you are, cleaning your lens WILL degrade the glass over time. A uv filter costs a fraction of a lens and can be thrown away when it gets too scratched.
