Thank you for your comment, Gregory! A larger sensor than the current 20-megapixel standard would indeed feel like a gift from above for many Micro Four Thirds photographers—especially those using Olympus/OM System cameras. Panasonic, however, has already crossed that milestone with models like the G9 Mark II, among others. Still, I share your hope for progress in this area.

Enjoy your M1X, especially with longer lenses as the ergonomics are the best. I photograph mostly Birds and Wildlife and why I use 2 M1X. OM needs to come out with an OM-1X, with a 25-30 mp Sensor

I only shoot crop sensor now, and know someone who recently switched to the OM-1. My hesitation is a) do I want to learn a new system after many years with Canon. B) recent (serious) neck surgery has caused me all kinds of grief and may force a change on my wildlife photography. We came to the Lowcountry 7 years ago because it is one of the last places left filled with swamps and marshes. I was out in local marshes with a safari guide from Namibia, he was amazed how close the environment was to his home.So… I’m taking a wait and see before I jump into a new system. ]]>In reply to Bushcrafter.

Hi Ted,
Thank you very much for visiting my site.
I was also skeptical at first, but after Pentax DSLR and then Fujifilm mirrorless, this is the best move I ever made.
We both know that a smaller sensor can’t deliver full frame results, but the results are very good, it also depends on what the medium ultimately is where you want to display those results.
Maybe you can borrow a camera from a friend and give it a try. Olympus/OM System also has a try out system, but I don’t know if it is available in all countries and regions.
Anyway, you are welcome here!

Ooh yes, and as for the price, it is indeed half price, and that price was already heavily discounted. Originally when they came out in 2019 it was €2999, but they are harder to find new now. Cheers !
