OM System has launched some exciting new gear today! You can catch the official presentation on the OM System website. However, since everything is released on a timed schedule via YouTube, you might have to wait a bit for all the details.
In the meantime, OM System ambassador Jimmy Cheng from Red35 has already released three new videos, offering a first impression and review of the latest equipment – Warning! After watching Emily from Micro Four Nerds share her thoughts, you might find yourself wanting to buy it! 🚨
The new lineup includes:
📷 OM-3 – A professional, retro-style camera
🔭 100-400mm Mark II – An updated telephoto zoom
🔹 17mm & 25mm Mark II – Two refreshed prime lenses

Nikon announced the Coolpix P1100 bridge camera with us 125x zoom yesterday, along with a Nikkor 35mm F/1.2 lens (making Nikon the only camera with native F/1.2 trinity of lenses – 35/50/85). A great time for us photographers! Thanks for sharing Marc.

I would love one of these cameras from OM Systems. Only problem is the price. In Australia they are A$3200 for body only. I will be watching for the price to fall before I get too excited.

I’ve done a lot of research on the OM-3, and my conclusion is clear: if you primarily shoot nature—especially birds—the OM-1 Mark II is the superior choice. However, for general photography, the OM-3 is very likely the best camera Olympus/OM System has ever produced – yes, it is expensive 🙂
