Introducing PictureFX Creative – Kodak Wratten 85A, the latest addition to my PictureFX series ! This LUT is inspired by the legendary Kodak Wratten 85A filter, renowned for its captivating warmth and depth.
The Kodak Wratten Lut 85A serves a dual purpose in photography. Primarily, it’s utilized to correct the color balance when shooting with daylight settings under tungsten lighting conditions. Its main property is to shift the color temperature of the light towards cooler tones, effectively balancing the warm, yellowish light of tungsten bulbs with the cooler, bluish tones of daylight, ensuring that colors appear more natural and accurate in the final photograph.

Additionally, the Lut can be employed to warm up photos taken in daylight. Applying the 85A Lut to the photo adds a warm, orange tint to the scene, simulating the effect of shooting under warmer lighting conditions such as during sunrise or sunset. This can enhance the overall warmth and atmosphere of photographs, giving them a cozy or nostalgic feel.

Click above to download, the Lut is in .cube format, and is compatible with most image editing software. If you use RawTherapee, you will need a HaldClut in PNG format, first download the .cube version, and then convert it via Vertopal Cube to PNG
The Lut creating engine is running at full speed again, and in addition to this new “85A Filter” Lut, I have even more new Luts in the pipeline, so come regularly and see what new things I have cooked up!
