Is there a problem with OM System ?

Update May 31, 2023,
The problems with the pages seem to be solved.
The shop and more specifically the link to the range of lenses now also work.
Very briefly, the Belgian sales page mentioned Swiss franc as a currency, but that has also been changed to euros.
The personal Olympus gallery still shows login problems,
but I suppose this too will be resolved.

Nowadays, a company’s business card is their website.
Before the name change from Olympus to OM System, I was very satisfied with the working and information on their website.
Also when I finally bought an E-M1 Mark III, E-M5 Mark III and some lenses such as the Olympus 12-40mm Pro and the 12-200mm on the Olympus webshop.

But about a month ago everything was gradually changed to OM System, including the webshop and personal page.
Coincidentally, at that moment I wanted to purchase the Olympus 300mm f4 Pro on the Olympus OM System webshop,
then for the first time I noticed problems on the Belgian version of the OM System website.

Some page links didn’t work, and some translations were incorrect.
Not to bad in itself, but the link to the “Lenzen” webshop didn’t work either.
Logging into MyOlympus suddenly stopped due to an expired certificate.
But the worst part was that my customer file no longer contained any purchases made.

Of course I forwarded all these problems to the Olympus OM System support, but in the meantime more than a month has passed, and nothing has changed yet.
On the contrary, until the problem is solved I have been asked to use the French version.
But since all my previous orders have disappeared, I don’t want to risk that.
So I felt obliged to complete my last purchase at a well-known camera store – then I have proof of purchase and invoice with certainty.

Is this all bad ?
Well, I made the switch from Fujifilm to Olympus because the MFT system contained elements for me that suited my type of photography.
Also, the Olympus name and their longstanding presence in the photographic market supported that sense of quality and trust.
In itself it may not be a bad thing, although rolling out a website without having fully tested it is not a good idea,
anyway, the problem is the feeling I get about how OM System might handle other things, like their cameras and quality control.

Belgium is only a small country, and maybe because of this they think the problem is less important.
But there are also Olympus supporters in Belgium, and some of them may have an English website and write about it.
I can only hope that they fix the problem soon, and that this was a one-time blunder that won’t continue in the future.
